‘Bless This Mess’ Fox Comedy Pilot Picked Up To Series By ABC

  • Deadline
Single-camera comedy Bless This Mess has been picked up to series by ABC. I hear the show, starring Lake Bell and Dax Shepard, has received a six-episode order to air this coming midseason.

Bless This Mess, created/executive produced by Bell and Elizabeth Meriwether, originated at 20th Century Fox TV and was set up at Fox where it received an off-cycle pilot order early this year. The pilot, directed by Bell, was delivered to the network a couple of months ago, with top Fox brass said to have been high on it. With the network’s ownership (and leadership) in transition, the pickup decision was put off but as the cast options were expiring this month, a call had to be made.

Bless This Mess was one of three off-cycle comedy pilots ordered by Fox this year. The others, a revamped Dan the Weatherman, starring Thomas Lennon,

While recently promoting their upcoming movie together, Second Act, Leah opened up about how their adorable friendship began, and the hilarious conversation that ensued on that fateful night. "I was friends with Marc Anthony, and then he started dating Jennifer," she told Entertainment Tonight, explaining that Marc was dying to introduce Jennifer to Leah and her husband, Angelo Pagán, at one of Marc's movie premieres.

"So we went to the premiere hoping she was gonna be ugly in real life, and then when I was approaching her, I was like, 'I hope it's the lighting. Maybe she just looks good in here,' and as I got closer I was like, 'Oh damn, there's a lot of light right

Jennifer Lopez and Leah Remini are taking their longtime friendship to the big screen, and we couldn't be more excited. The actresses are set to play best friends in the upcoming film Second Act, which was produced by J Lo herself. While we got a few glimpses of their bond when they were filming on set, the two are now putting their friendship on full display as they promote the movie. On Sunday, the ladies were joined by their costars Milo Ventimiglia and Vanessa Hudgens during a photo call at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles. The cast was all smiles as they posed in front of the holiday decor, but it was Jennifer and Leah's friendship that really stole the spotlight. Seriously, find you a Bff who looks at you the way Jennifer looks at Leah.

A&E Developing More Than 10 Unscripted Projects With British Producers Including Terminally Ill Hologram Format

A&E is developing nearly a dozen projects with British production companies including a moving documentary format where terminally ill people deliver a message to their families from beyond the grave. The U.S.-based broadcaster is in the early stages of developing the project, which has the working title Voices From the Grave, from Naked Entertainment, the production company run by former Fox reality chief Simon Andreae.

The development was revealed by Sean Gottlieb, VP Development and Programming at A+E Networks, as part of a webinar organized by British trade body Pact.
