Storyline

The series begins in New York, a city that is leading the charge to green its skyline with several groundbreaking projects. New York debunks the myth of the "concrete jungle," proving that dense urban environments can be inherently sustainable. "The Green Apple" explores some of Manhattan's most prominent and technologically advanced structures - like One Bryant Park and The Solaire - and features interviews with architects Robert Fox, Richard Cook and Sergio Palleroni, among others. The episode illustrates how the ubiquitous skyscraper can be designed as a model of environmental responsibility. Written by Anonymous

PBS series comment

Karena Albers and Tad Fettig are right on in this documentary. It is not like Al Gore's doomsday personal political agenda even though he brings up valid points.I urge every one to have a look at the series "design-e2" on PBS. Architecture and sustainable building should be looked at carefully, for what we are doing today my involve what we can't fix in the future. There will be a second series on Architecture coming up. Plus new topics are already in the works such as "water"/ "inviroment"/ Health, etc. Please Google your local PBS stations to find out when these series are on air. Or go to their web page and find out more about the content of the series. Thank you .
