Storyline

It has been several years since young Sawyer Nelson and the dedicated team at the Clearwater Marine Hospital, headed by Dr. Clay Haskett, rescued Winter. With the help of Dr. Cameron McCarthy, who developed a unique prosthetic tail for the injured dolphin, they were able to save her life. Yet their fight is not over. Winter's surrogate mother, the very elderly dolphin Panama, has passed away, leaving Winter without the only poolmate she has ever known. However, the loss of Panama may have even greater repercussions for Winter, who, according to USDA regulations, cannot be housed alone, as dolphins' social behavior requires them to be paired with other dolphins. Time is running out to find a companion for her before the team at Clearwater loses their beloved Winter to another aquarium. Written by Warner Bros.

Goofs

The minivan that Sawyer and his family are seen inside in two different scenes has a no smoking logo on the dashboard. This is typical of US rental cars, but almost never seen in personal vehicles. The fact that it is shown being driven by Sawyer's mother on two different days in Sawyer's home town indicates the minivan was supposed to be the family car. See more »

Great movie full of humor, and heartwarming scenes with the animals
13 September 2014 | by leightotSee all my reviews

Dolphin Tale 2 is a great family moving featuring lots of marine animals, dolphins, turtles, birds, etc. It's full of real life situations that challenge kids growing up and people with difficulties and physical challenges. The characters grow to realize the deeper truths about generosity and letting go. The movie is fun to watch because it includes lots of humorous scenes between the actors and the animals. I liked this movie even more than the first Dolphin Tale. It's very uplifting and I know every member of the family, young and old, will enjoy this often funny and heartwarming story, full of real life situations and great family values. Loved the song "Brave Souls" heard during the credits!
